The NuWave Oven Pro is available this holiday season to answer those calls and offers the buyer an alternative to the conventional or microwave oven.The infomercial will tell you that the NuWave Oven can prepare food in a healthy way since there is no need to add cooking oils like those used in traditional stove-top cooking. And guess what? That's the truth. The NuWave really performed as advertised, even when preparing completely frozen pieces of meat. Thick sausage links or pork chops cooked in less time than frying or broiling, didn't burn and retained the their natural juices. Vegetables turned out fresh and hot, similar to steaming, but needed to be sliced thin enough to keep them away from the top-mounted heating element.The NuWave Oven tested here was controlled by a digital push-button panel and plugs into a regular household electrical outlet. An analog model is available at a slightly price. Food is added or removed from inside the transparent dome by lifting the dome off of the base at the handles mounted on the power head. Although the transparent dome became quite hot through the cooking process, the food was easy to get at when done.After enjoying a well-prepared meal, cleanup was easy. The NuWave Oven allowed for food to be placed either directly on the cooking rack or in a shallow dish, depending on what the recipe called for. A minimal wipe-down with soap and warm water was all that was necessary to clean the NuWave and all parts except for the power head were dishwasher-safe. As for storage, the unit is approximately 15.5 x 13.5 x 13.5 inches and weighs 9 pounds.
